Who are we and what do we do:
Cumbria Youth Alliance was set up in 1997.
We are a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. We are led by the needs and aspirations of the young people in the County and these needs inform our strategy and our delivery.
Our mission statement is “Work with and for young people in Cumbria to help them reach their full potential”.
We hold Investors in People and a Platinum Quality Award from Simple Quality Protects.
We have 7 full time and 4 part time staff and are ably supported by a Board of 8 locally elected trustees.
We promote and train others to implement the Charities Commission code of Good Governance and are members of the Institute of Fundraising.
Annually we directly support over 2000 young people across all 6 localities of Cumbria but with an emphasis on the most deprived communities where our work has the greatest impact. (West Cumbria)
Wherever possible we work in partnership to avoid duplication and make the best use of limited resources here in Cumbria.
We represent the sector at a range of strategic tables and decision making bodies giving us a unique insight into the issues facing young people as they make their way towards adulthood.
We passionately believe all young people have potential but some need a helping hand to realise that potential.
